Our family-run Residence Alpstein welcomes you in a unique panoramic locationabove Scena, only 6 km from Merano. Quiet and idyllic, overlooking the roofs of Merano, our Residence is located directly in one of the sunniest spots of Merano and Environs. Enjoy the wonderful view over the South Tyrolean spa town, the Texel Group and the Burggrafenamt/Burgraviato.
All our lovingly furnished apartments have a fully equipped kitchen so that you can prepare your own meals as you please. If, on the other hand, you prefer to eat at the restaurant, you can take advantage of our partner hotel.
Only a few minutes' walk from our Residence you can find the Scena Waalweg path and the Taser cable car, which comfortably takes hikers and active holidaymakers to the Schennaberg mountain hiking area. Moreover, the bus stop for the guest bus to Merano is only 350 m away from our Residence.

- A cosy reading room has been set up for you in the extended entrance area.
- Another new feature is that the stop for the new hiking bus is right next to the house. This circulates within Scena and also reaches Verdines, Hasenegg and St. Georgen.

Our spacious and lovingly furnished holiday apartments with balcony or garden and wonderful panoramic view, fully equipped kitchenette, WiFi as well as bed linen and towels offer plenty of space for the whole family. On up to 85 m², you can spend your holiday on your own and still enjoy the benefits of our partner hotel, which is only 150 m away from the Residence. You can also book half board or book breakfast and dinner separately.
The prices are for 2 persons per accommodation unit plus € 3.30 local tax - for each guest over 14 years of age -, which will be collected on site.

During a holiday in our apartments in Scena, you can choose to explore new culinary spots or to cook on your own. If you don't want to do without catering, you can enjoy the culinary programme -including the magnificent panoramic view - at our neighbouring 4* partner Hotel Gutenberg. Strengthen yourself every morning by enjoying a rich breakfast from the vital breakfast buffet with regional quality products. In the afternoon we pamper you with a cake buffet with our best homemade cakes. And in the evening we keep on spoiling your palate with a fresh salad buffet, a varied 4-course menu with a choice of 3 dishes per course and a children's buffet with healthy delicacies. To end on a high note, we serve a delightful dessert, fresh fruit, ice cream and a varied cheese buffet.

Deposit
At the time of booking we ask you to pay a deposit amounting to 30% of the total price by credit card or bank transfer, which will be retained in the event of cancellation. A reservation is not considered confirmed until written confirmation has been received from both parties.
Check-in / Check-out
On the day of arrival, your apartment will be available from approx. 2 pm. For long-term bookings, we kindly ask you to contact us by telephone or e-mail one week before arrival. On the day of departure we ask you to vacate the apartments by 10 am.
Dogs
On request, you can bring your four-legged friend. However, this does not apply to all room categories, given that there are also hypoallergenic rooms. For the stay of your dog, we will charge a fee of 16.00 €/day without food.
Local tax
In addition to the total amount of your stay, a local tax of 3,30 € per person and night will be charged for all guests over 14 years of age directly on site.
Car park
You can park your car free of charge in our garage.
Smoking
According to Italian law, smoking is forbidden in the entire Residence and therefore also in all our apartments. You can smoke outside or on your balcony.
Südtirol Guest Pass Schenna/Scena
Upon your arrival at our residence, you will receive the Südtirol Guest Pass Schenna/Scena, which is valid during your entire stay. With this advantage card you can use every regional train line in South Tyrol, urban and intercity bus services, the Schenna hiking shuttle bus, cable cars serving Ritten/Renon, Meransen/Maranza, Kohlern/Colle, Mölten/Meltina and Vöran/Verano, Ritten/Renon tramway & Mendel/Mendola funicular railway as well as the PostBus operating cross-border to/from Switzerland between Mals – Müstair.
Travel cancellation insurance
We recommend you to take out a travel cancellation insurance. Evtl. HGV travel insurance.
Cancellation conditions
Up to 1 month before arrival free of charge. For cancellations from 30-20 days before the arrival date, the deposit will be retained. For cancellations within 20 days before arrival date 70% of the apartment price must be paid. In case of late arrival or early departure, the booked days will be charged in full.

Hiking & climbing
Whether an exciting mountain or climbing tour to the Monte Ivigna, a leisurely hike along a Waalweg path, a family excursion to the hiking resort Merano 2000 or a leisurely stroll amidst the orchards - with over 200 km of well-marked and signposted hiking trails, Scena and its surroundings are a true hiker's paradise. Directly from our Residence, many Waalweg paths and hiking trails wind through forests and meadows up to the Hirzer hiking area, to the Montescena/Schennanberg hiking area and to the hiking resort Merano 2000. Also on the Monte San Vigilio, on the Monzoccolo ridge - with the Salto and the Stoanernen Mandln - and on the Texel Group you can take a pleasant hike, a leisurely walk or a challenging mountain tour. Once at the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Texel Group, the Sarntal Alps and the Vinschgau/Val Venosta valley. Many modern lifts, such as the Taser cable car (15 minutes' walk away), the Verdines-Talle cable car and the Merano 2000 cable car (8 minutes' drive away), make it easy and effortless to reach the hiking areas. And there’s more: at the mountain station of the Merano 2000 cable car there are many exciting attractions for young and old, such as the Alpin Bob and the Outdoor Kids Camp. What else to say …. Merano
Only 6 km from our Residence Alpstein, the picturesque spa town of Merano invites you to take a leisurely walk or a pleasant shopping tour. The Alpine-Mediterranean atmosphere and the special urban flair make Merano a unique city in the Alpine region. A walk through the flowering gardens and suggestive promenades is the best way to admire the lush, Alpine-Mediterranean vegetation featuring palm trees, olive trees, cypresses, apple orchards and fir trees. We highly recommend a visit to the Botanical Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle and to the adjacent Touriseum. Meanwhile, shopaholics can get their money's worth in the historic Laubengasse (Arcade Alley) with pretty shops and sophisticated boutiques. And wellness lovers can enjoy the Merano Thermal Baths: a true joy for body and soul!
Winter
Whether skiing on Merano 2000, winter hiking on the Monte San Vigilio or cross-country skiing in Avelengo - Scena & surroundings are a great winter destination! The family-friendly ski resort of Merano 2000 is only an 8-minute drive from our Residence. Lots of sunshine, 40 km of perfectly groomed slopes for pleasure skiers as well as pros, an exciting Snowpark and the adventurous Outdoor Kids Camp guarantee endless fun for young and old. On the other hand, mountain enthusiasts can hike along many winter hiking trails on the Tschögglberg and enjoy the downhill run with a speedy toboggan ride. At the foot of the skiing and hiking area, cross-country skiers also get their money's worth. In fact, a 3 km long cross-country trailfor skaters and classic cross-country skiers with a moderate level of difficultyleads through the snow-covered larch forest of the plateau.
Other winter hiking areas in our vicinity are the Monte San Vigilio, the Monzoccolo ridge with the Salto and the Stoanernen Mandln, the Hirzer hiking area and the rear Val Passiria valley with Plan/Pfelders and Stulles/Stulls.
Christmas markets
Thousands of lights, enchanting scents, soft melodies and hearty delicacies - during the Christmas season, the spa town of Merano is wrapped in a magical, Christmas dress. Every year, the traditional Merano Christmas Market takes place along the city promenade. In lovingly decorated wooden stalls and little wooden houses, visitors and Christmas lovers can find handmade handicraft products, such as Christmas tree decorations, nativity figures, candles and many other gift articles. At the food stands, on the other hand, you can taste local specialities such as warm apple strudel, farmhouse and fruit breads, gingerbread, mulled wine, roasted nuts and much more. At this time of the year the wonderfully decorated Laubengasse (Arcade Alley) is particularly romantic and invites you to take a Christmas stroll or a shopping tour.
